In relation to children we believe that:

  • Learning should be fun. Children learn best through active exploration and interactions with adults, peers and materials that are relevant to their lives. This facilitates the development of each child’s social, emotional, intellectual, physical and language skills.
  • Children’s interests guide our child care curriculum. This encourages creativity and imagination, their individuality and acceptance of others.
  • Children are unique individuals, who learn and play in different ways and there will be variations in their development.
  • Children are to be respected for who they are, how they think and what they do. Enhancing your child’s self-esteem and competencies will allow them to become successful learners.

  • Children should be encouraged to use play to participate in their culture, to order the events in their lives and share those events with others.

  • Children need to be provided with opportunity to develop an understanding of their social worlds. Through this they will learn to trust, form attachments, share, negotiate and resolve conflicts.
